I never even noticed when I purchased my 2021 Tacoma....no CD player?
I'm old school, still have mental issue's with not having an 8-track player LOL!
Any simple fix to adding a CD play to existing unit?

I had the same issue, still have a lot of CDs.
I still have an 8-Track recorder, just cannot make myself get rid of it.
What I did was use Windows Media Player on my laptop to copy music files from my CDs.
Copied the CD files to a flash drive and insert the flash drive into the USB under the AC controls.
Now I have all of my music and I can still use my steering wheel controls to select the song I want to hear.
Takes a little time and you need to ensure your flash drive is formatted to FAT32.

I just bought a flash drive already formatted to FAT32.

Solved my problem and works well.

Even easier is to RIP your CDs into iTunes or Apple Music if you're using a Mac, transfer those to your phone and use Apple Car Play or just the Bluetooth connection and play everything from your phone. You can do the same using any of the non Apple based smart phones and any of the newer phones can easily hold 10,000 - 20,000 songs or more, all organized by artist, song, album, genre, or just your personal favorites. Can't imagine carrying actual CD's around with you in your truck. And when you do this with your smart phone, your entire library travels with you in your pocket all the time.

The problem is that with Apple CarPlay, you cannot access your entire library of going over 5mph except through Siri. If you are in an area with no cell service, Siri can’t do it for you either.
