Center console button stuck?

So I get into my truck and try to open my center console, but the button won't push in. it always worked fine before, but now my console is stuck shut and and something is causing the button to not be able to push in. I put in a console vault a month ago and haven't had any problems so I don't think it's that. I'm beginning to think I'm gonna have to break the lid off and buy a new one. Anyone else have this happen? ??

 

Sounds like the vault to me. Maybe try a putty knife under the button to slip it. I'd mess with it a while before butchering the top off.

 

Before you break the lid off.. realize that is like $450+ to replace. I'd try a few things before getting that heavy with it. Not sure what could be blocking that latch from being able to open fully, but I'm not familiar with Console Vault's.. good luck!

figured it out. the console vault was somehow popped up under the armrest blocking the latch. after pulling the lid towards me and pushing the button really hard i got it to pop. I had let my dad borrow my truck he other day and must have left the thing unlocked. thinking he checked it out and didnt turn the latch all the way
