If thats what your looking for then the Tuffy will fit the bill nicely. With the full steel lid and legs it will do the job. You can't tell it's not a solid box from the top and someone would have to cut in the console to get into the contents.

I'll have to measure the inside dimensions tonight and let you know. I can tell you that you will not loss any side to side space but will will loss about an inch of vertical space. You can also leave the until unlocked without the key being in the unit.

Thanks for the info! If you have the time dimensions would be great! Or better yet if you have a glock 17. I'm leaning towards this since it seems you lose a bit more space with the other full box options in an already tiny console.

Yeah, I'll have some time tonight. I'm not a Glock guy but I do have a M&P 9 compact and a M&P Shield I can show in the space.

Just tried to fit the g17 in the console and even without the threaded barrel it will stick out the top so unless i lay it side ways it probably a no go. It looks like my LC9 is a much better fit so i may end up having to just stick with a smaller carry pistol.

Look for that thread where the member used the Serpa Quick Disconnect System. He had it mounted at an angle. Pretty sure it was a 19 but not positive.

I keep a nice size medical kit attached to the back of my passenger seat. It has practically everything I would need.

Well I just finished mounting the Serpa holster and CQC mount as well as a Kydex spare mag holder for my Walther. It's pretty slick looking and very secure. That said if you're looking to mount anything larger than a Walther PPK/S in the same manner all I can say is good luck. Still plenty of room for a cell phone, wallet, watch, ect. but mounting you weapon in the same way will definately require you to be size specific.
There was a little more latitude in the 2005 - 2011 rectangular shaped Console Vault than there is in the 2016 - 2017 Locker Down cube.
Other than size the quality is good on both brands. One thing I would do is swap out the two hex head machine screws supplied with the Locker Down with button head cap screws.
Hope this helps anyone contemplating using the Serpa CQC mounting system.
*Forgot to mention that I borrowed this idea from another member.

Whats the dimensions on the opening on the console vault? Is there a hole for a wire to come out for the charger?

Anybody know of one with a push button lock? I prefer mechanical I don't have to look at. My old safe fit under my old Frontier front seat and I could cable lock it. It won't fit under my Tacomas driver seat.

** We found someone to review this product. Thanks for the interest. **

TCT Magazine has received a 3rd gen Taco center console vault from Tuffy (SKU: 324) for review. Since I already have a center console system, I won't be installing this in my Taco...and I'm the only magazine staff member with a 3rd gen Taco.

Soooo...I am looking for someone in the Continental USA who wants a free Tuffy Center Console Vault, can take decent photos of the install process and of it in use, and can write a 500 to 800 word article. PM me if interested so I can ship it to you. Includes a Tuffy hat, bandana, and some stickers.
