Charging system warning light came on this evening. was flashing and would go off for a bit. Put anew alternator in about 6 mos. ago. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it. Will go to store in the morning, to run codes.
    Any insight would be appreciated.

Probably won't get any codes. Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running you should see between 13.5 to 14.5 VDC.

Did you replace it with a new OEM alternator or a rebuild parts house alternator?

The parts house rebuilds are a known problem area. Most of them are short lived garbage.

I got it at O Reilly. I don't remember if it was rebuilt or not. I will check the voltage. Gonna check the serpentine belt as well. I hate the thought of having to put another alternator in it. It was a pain in the butt. thanks for the help

Oreillys is probably a rebuild. They usually have a good warranty though if you don't mind swapping until you get a good one.

So, the alternator was toast. went to pull it and it felt like the bolt on the belt tensioner was gonna strip. I pulled the belt tensioner off. I hope this wasn't the biggest mistake I've made all week. Any input would be appreciated...
