    It's not just Chevy. Last year I sold a 98 f-150 that I bought new, 109,000 mi. Very we'll taken care of but the rust was horrific. Brake lines, transmission lines, suspension, body panels, and everything else.
    I thought that as a second vehicle it would last me forever. Heck I had a 72 ford van that I used as a farm truck for 26 years that was in better shape with 230k when I sold it to buy thef-150.
    I suspect bad steel.

    Crappier steal is probably part of it, but I believe alot of it is the crap they put on the roads these days. Not so much sand and salt now days. The last few years alot of places including here in northern Utah have been spraying some crap on the road a day or two before a storm is expected to hit. This crap has been reeking havic on vehicles, pics like the ones above aren't the scary part, there's alot of reports on gm forums I'm also on of brake lines rusting out and failing on newer trucks.
