A little ID help if you please. So as many of you may know, I recently purchased a NIB Gen 2 OEM clear Passenger side headlamp housing. Its description from the seller was "New Never Mounted OEM Toyota Passenger Side Headlamp Housing.

Well, forgive me if my ignorance is showing but it got here today and I thought upon inspection I would find Toyota stamped all over it. And instead, it has NSF - P377 on two of the stickers and a third that reads MFG LOT 0429 DEPO with what I would describe as S/N & Mod/#.

It is very beautiful and is most certainly new and never mounted, but is it true OEM TOYOTA, or a good quality aftermarket housing?:notsure:

DEPO is most definitely aftermarket (not OEM).

Factory will have NFL on the lense somewhere. Or Stanley. Pretty sure tacos were NFL.

    DEPO is Chinese aftermarket

Yup, as others have said - DEPO is an aftermarket provider (https://www.depoautolamp.com). NSF is a certification body (https://www.nsf.org) and the reference is to NSF protocol P377 for Automotive Exterior Lighting Parts. Hope that helps.

Well crap, that’s what I get for buying site unseen from Facebook marketplace. The guy seemed pretty legitimate he may not know that it’s aftermarket hopefully he will do the right thing. The problem is I have $25 in shipping what are sure I will never recover.

Once again. If you’re not walking out of the dealer with it, no way to be 100% sure it’s OE.

This is true, I actually reached out to the gentleman I bought the housing from and he immediately refunded the money and had me keep the housing for my trouble. I am sure that this was unintentional and he’s been nothing less than professional through the entire exchange. He’s not a Tacoma fanatic like most of us so it makes sense.

He explained that he was in an accident and the dealer had provided that housing so he assumed it was OEM. Again makes perfect sense to me and I can’t argue with his quickness to make things right, I’m satisfied.

I'm thinking I may want to pick up the driver's side same brand, model, etc housing just to get me up and running for now. It actually seems to be of good quality and I have one already. The links that you have provided looked to be that of the manufacture but I don't see any item selection or pricing for consideration. Do you or anyone happen to know where buying information can be found?

Check FleaBay, it’s an aftermarket product, so it’s likely to be in most secondary market sellers. Parts stores that have everything. I just looked….yep, Rock Auto
