Cluster getting scratched up

what have you guys been using to clean your cluster? Seems like paper towels and microfiber towels scratch it up

 

I use a Swiffer Duster on it and it has not scratched

 

Griot’s plastic polish removed nearly all of my scratches. It’s easier to remove the colored trim first by pulling firmly with your fingers. Makes access easier. Start with the radio trim then the cluster trim. Easy enough to do. Then be super gentle forever!

 

Our cluster plastic is notoriously soft. Some guys have bought a new replacement and put clear protector on it from the start. Microfibers even scratch it. My go-to is PLASTIX. Expensive but polishes light scratches right out.

Lightly damp new microfiber. Have not scratched it yet.
Never paper towels dry or wet.

 

Try a sunglasses cleaning cloth. Like the ones that come with ray bans.

 

i have already replaced mine...the day i replaced it, was using soft, new microfiber and got scratched again...i give up

Plexus is the BOMB. Been using it for years. I had Jeep soft top windows that you could barely make out shapes when looking through. Plexus and it was like new windows again. You could still see the scratches but it was clear again. Motorcycle windscreens same thing. Motorcycle painted plastic parts are slick as shit after and stay clean longer. Can you tell I like this stuff?

 

Do you just spray it on and what do you wipe it with?

 

Spray it on and wipe it off with the softest cloth you own.

NO PAPER TOWELS.

And as general good practice, don't use paper towels on anything you'd like to see through.

 

I like to blow off the larger debris first. Then very soft motions to flick off the rest. Only once I have the major abrasives removed do I proceed further. I usually give a light spray and wipe off the rest of the dirt and then spray again to polish it clean.

If you can’t remove the crap first you end up grinding it into the plastic and scratching everything.

 

Novus plastic polish to remove current scratches and then use #1 to clean after that.

Novus products have been my friend. Got them years ago for working with plexiglass and continued to use for old convertible rear windows, headlights, etc. As far as I am aware there are three stages available. Awesome stuff.
