So I replaced my rack and pinion and I went to drive my truck and it won’t go over 10mph with the abs and everything kicking in and like slowin me down. The code that came up I got was C1290 (malfunction in zero point of steering) there’s no lights on the dash until I hit 10mph then it goes away. Does anyone know how to fix this code? And let my truck go over 10mph

I need help. I am getting a C1290 code after getting an alignment done. They returned the truck to me with my steering wheel looking like the photo, and it was actually worse than when I brought it in. I’m pissed and will not be returning there. I now have this light on my dash, I cannot turn the traction control off and I scanned it with my code reader and have a C1290 code. Any ideas? Thanks!

The C1290 (Steering Angle Zero Point Malfunction) is more than likely being set because the steering wheel isn't straight when the vehicle is travelling straight.
First you need to get the steering wheel corrected and then do a zero point calibration.
