I dont knowbif this has been covered before but Im having an issue with my taco! Well I think its an issue.. After running the truck for a good amount of time, once the engine is cool im noticing that my radiator hose is collapsed (like shrunked) and when i open the radiator cap air comes rushing in and the hose expands back to normal. I dont think this normal so is there anyone who can help me diagnose this issue? 2000 3.4L

    Stock. EZ pass.Dump pass.Inspection sticker.Convict printed lic.plates.FG cap.
Replace the radiator cap with OE and check the overflow pipe for clogging. The fluid in reservoir should be 1/4" low when cold and rise when engine is hot.

Are you having any temp/overheating issues at freeway speeds?

No overheating issues at all. I just replaced the cap, so we will see how this goes

I would replace the reservoir cap assembly. Should be $7-$8.

As the coolant heats up and expands "excess" should be pushed out via the reservoir cap assembly to the reservoir. As it cools down it will be sucked back in to the radiator. Sounds to me like it's either clogged as mentioned above or not functioning properly (I've heard of them being installed backwards before). If it's original it's 20 year old rubber/plastic parts that can be replaced cheap and easy.

New radiator/reservoir hoses, new cap, and properly fill it with coolant and burp it for air.
