College and Studying <FML

Did you folks take any special steps when studying during college, TW and facebook will be the death of me

 

I just plug in my headphones and go at it.

 

Print anything from online you need to study and ditch the computer. No computer=less distractions.

 

x2 i cant get anything done when I have a computer in front of me, kinda like right now when i should be studying for a test on thursday.

 

or me.. right now I should be studying for a huge GIS midterm I have tomorrow. After i finish typing this comment, the plan is to get back to work....












or maybe....

 

yep, ive got two tomorrow, been studying my ass off most of the day, but still need more

 

i know i found it pretty pathetic of my self that for whatever reason talking to people of here and fb, is way better than passing < fml. I typically plug my headphones but my phones out for repair with motorola so im rocking the old classic flip phone, and listening to music via youtube

 

I wasn't on a car forum in college and MySpace was the cool social media site and it was hard wasting time there.

 

I find the most boring thing on TV (typically planet earth on discovery) to make what I am studying more interesting, so that I will focus on my work.

 

good news i just downloaded a webpage blocker for chrome so later all for 6hrs +/-, any other tips besides ole adderall

When it's midterm time I leave my comp in my room and print/bring my study material to study rooms or the library
if nothings around you to tempt distraction, you study better (or at least I do)

at one time, I had myself banned from here for a week

Speaking of adderall... There was some idiot that posted an ad on the Iowa State University college-managed "for sale" group asking if anyone had adderall for sale or where he could get it. We trolled him for quite a while until a certain visitor went to his door and had a chat with him about the legality of his post.

 

Organization and Time Management (obviously both are useless without some self-control/discipline).

Make outlines and a plan of attack so to speak for your night or week or paper and you'll find yourself more organized, getting things done quicker, and feeling more accomplished because you'll be completing "segments" or steps of a project rather than looking forward at the whole daunting thing.

Serious on the Time Management though. If you treat it like a full time job and schedule your school work before "fun time" there is no way you can fail.

 

wooohoooo, 3days about 5 total hours of sleep, an ungodly amount of studying and feel pretty damn good about both tests ive taken today.

 

No Internet when I was in undergrad and still too distracted, immature, busy working, mx, partying to study and barely made it through.
When I went back to grad school in2003 at age 30 it was actually much easier despite a family and working full time, simply because I was more mature and focused.

 

With all the tips in the world these two words pretty much make or break it. After leaving the military and coming back to school it took me a full semester to not want to choke anybody out. I feel like I'm surrounded by the only thing worse than teenagers, pre-teens
