Hey TW, I recently had a rebuilt motor put in by a local toyota engine builders shop. I’ve driven it about 150 miles since the install and I found a small coolant leak coming from the coolant temp sensor, I’ve read that this is supposed to happen from the factory because of the design of the coolant and engine that the leak actually helps seal the sensor and prevent further leaking. Have you guys heard or seen anything that could confirm this? I called the shop earlier and emailed pics and I’m currently waiting to hear back. Just want to know if there is some truth to this or if they tell me the same thing if I should call b.s. on it. Thank you.

In my experience, "Supposed to leak" is code for "We f***ed up*".

Its not british, its not supposed to leak.

Is the sensor broken or just poorly sealed? I can't tell what part of it is wet.
