What’s the going rate for a complete rear housing with e-locker? My truck didn’t come with one but it’d be nice to have.

    4 run, 2 don't
    $250 to $600

Pricing varies on condition of the axle overall IE rust, etc.

Have you considered something like an ARB?

I like my E-locker, but if I were starting from an open diff, I'd go ARB. The engagement is so much smoother. It's not like the ETRD lockers are weak or anything, just the engagement on the TRD lockers can be a little finicky.

There's advantages and disadvantages to them all.

I think most people like the TRD lockers simply because they came on their trucks. It's a great locker and super strong, but I've driven my buddy's jeep with dual ARBs and you couldn't even notice the engagement; super smooth. You sometimes have to drive back and forth or in a zig zag for the TRDs to engage/disengage. Not a deal breaker, but sometimes kinda annoying. Plus, you'd be looking at a used locker, and there's always that risk with used stuff.

With the ARBs you need an air supply, but done right you can use it to inflate your tires and stuff, too. But of course that's an extra expense. Wireing either is pretty much the same, as you'd need to figure out switches and wiring either locker.

Another option is a LSD or maybe a "lunchbox" type auto locker. They don't require any wiring and automatically work. auto lockers aren't really great for a daily driver, whereas LSDs are, but they don't have quite the traction advantage as a locker.

Anyhoo, just something to think about.

I'm looking into Harrop E-lockers. Not sure if they have any benefit over stock...

Yea ZUK is good. You can see most of the regearing he documented with pictures n videos. He quoted me $1300 for harrop with 4.88 n said he had a couple on the shelf ready to ship. But that was over a year ago

I'm tempted to bring the truck to him and have him do the install. You know it would be done right, That's for sure.

Zuk just installed a Tru-Trac in my diff. He is absolutely the most skilled and knowledgeable man when it comes to differentials.
Takes his time to do it properly, takes great pride in his work.

Would I have to remove the diffs and send them to him or can I drop off my truck to him?

Not quite. They are E-lockers, but the engagement is more like the ARBs from what I've read. So they're much smoother.

Also more expensive. $1400 for the part.

Yes, remove the 3rd member and ship it off. If you can & I was able to do this, put the 3rd member in a recirculating solvent tank/parts cleaner and clean out the old gear oil, you'll make him happy. Contact him directly for assistance. I went to his place because he is local. We coordinated the work so I could have it back within a day. While he was installing my True-Trac, I was at a friends shop replacing my rear wheel bearings & seals. I am fortunate to have access to a lift, solvent cleaner, sand blaster cabinet. Sand blasted & painted my rear brake drums too. He sent me texts/pics throughout the whole process, this was his doing and a testament to his care & pride in his work. He is amazing to say the least. I would never trust this work to anyone else. This is the time to do your rear wheel bearings and seals.. maybe rear brakes, etc.
