Cruise control dash indicator

I got a 2024 tacoma trd sport. Does anyone know how to turn off the cruise control/adaptive cruise control indicator on the dash?

The button below the cruise control.

 

I thought that changed the mode of cruise?

 

To turn it off press cancel or press the cruise control or step on the brake

 

Not to turn off cruise control or adaptive cruise control. I would like to know how to turn off the indicator from the dash

 

When I turn it off its off on the dash also.

Customization of the dash isn’t user friendly. It takes a little time to figure it out and get the three panels set to your preferences.

 

I don't know..I thought it displayed all the time.

 

What about Cruise control? How to turn off…

 

The display icon on the dash..do you know how to turn that off?

It is obnoxious because the icon is not dimmable - it emits the same amount of lumens regardless of where you set the overall cluster. Further, to work around this, the entire cluster is unnecessarily overbacklit even when dimmed.

Unfortunately all new Toyotas with digital dashes are the same way - the Cruise Mode icon is shown on the screen at all times.

To make matters worse, for reasons that are unclear (I think it's just a software bug), a handful of icons on the dash don't dim with the other UI elements. Before anyone tries to tell me that Toyota did it that way on purpose for regulatory reasons, show me the regulation that says my "torque split" needs to be illuminated at max brightness at all times... Get real.

 

My 2024 Tundra Plat does not show the cruise control icon when off so it’s not all Toyota models. Just an FYI
