Mine did this EXACT thing the first day I had it. I took it back to the dealership, walked in to show the salesman and when I walked back out the issue corrected itself and has never happened again. No idea root cause or the fix but I had the same thing happen in April of last year on my 21 DCSB TRD Sport AT.

Ya'll that posted the static pics, mine did yesterday at 30k, seems to have resolved itself, but for those that didn't, is it a full replace or a quick fix?

Had this happen within the first week of buying my new 2020. Got home, shut the truck off and turned it back on and it was back to normal. Haven't had the issue again after 30k more miles.

this happened to me in the summer when it was really hot. I left the truck parked all closed in the hot sun on the hottest day came out to go and got that screen. I went to the next destination and cooled the interior off with the AC. parked with the windows down under the visors a little. Next time I started the truck it was fine and has not done it since. I did freak out a bit but in the end it was ok.

It was a nice 50 degree F day when it happened to mine. Not too hot or too cold. Mine did it as soon as I opened the door. I was a little fast with trying to open the door as the key detect unlocked and it locked itself again. That's the only thing I could think of at the time that was odd.

I just came out to a scrambled screen yesterday. The truck had been sitting for the last 5 days while I was away. When I opened the door after remote starting it I noticed it. After firing the truck up again the screen remained scrambled. I shut the truck off and tried restarting it to see if it would clear things up but it didn’t. I drove it anyhow and when I got to my destination it was still buggered. 10 minutes later I returned to my truck and it was all good again. 9500kms on it, temps throughout the week were between 0°C and 11°C or so.

On a side note, I have also had this happen on my work truck, a 2017 Peterbilt. It happened twice and resolved itself on its own both times as well

I had this happen on my 2021 Tacoma last night. Shutting off and restarting the engine did nothing. However this morning everything was fine.

This happened to me this morning. Restarting the truck seemed to fix it. Does anyone have a definitive solution?

    Minor stuff.
Happened to me a little while ago. Was on the way to work, stopped at WaWa for a drink. Get back in and the screen is all scrambled after starting. Shut it off, opened and closed to door and remained unchanged. Drove to work with no change. Tried hitting some bumps hoping it was something loose. Nope. Once I got to work, I exited the vehicle, locked it and walked away for 45 seconds. Went back in and the screen was fine. Temperature outside was 62° and I had windows open so it wasn’t hot in there. Very odd. Truck is 3 years old with 100K +.

Mine glitched on the way home from buying my 2023 OR. Only when the navigation cues popped up. Was fine in between… 15 miles and my first gremlin

Gremlin got me today. I’ll check it in a few hours and see. Will try battery disconnect tonight. If that doesn’t work, looks like a trip to the dealer. I’m at 35,800 miles so, I better go straight there.

If you get your Combo meter (between the Tach and Speedometer) replaced, check on how the dealer handles the Odometer mileage which is stored in the Combo meter. When my Combo meter was replaced my dealer ordered it with the exact mileage of my truck at that time.

I replaced about 6 of them before I retired.
Didn’t see a reoccurring issue after.
    Just like the radios.
    Shit parts.
Can fail at anytime, even after being replaced.

Exactly what they are suppose to do..

That's why it's tough for me to digest the new tech. All these electronic gadgets make me nervous as my 2012 is quite simple and a happy medium. My 2017 is full of newer tech that I fear is going to cost me a lot more in up keep in the long run. The wife is looking into a newer 2024 vehicle and I fear the same possibilities. It is, what it is.
