    Hi

I have a 2010 Tacoma. When I turn my defrost on I only get air blowing out through the passengers side of the vent onto my windshield. From the middle over towards the drivers side the vent is blowing no air. Any recommendations as to what it may be? Seems odd that half of it is working (middle to passenger side) and the other half (middle to drivers side) is not blowing any air at all.

    Thanks in advance

    Jason

Did you get this fixed? My drivers and middle windshield defrost is working but the passenger side is not. Have a 2010 as well.

I'm wondering the same thing. I inherited a 2009 from my father and the passenger side of my windshield is always fogged or frozen. There is poor air flow to that side.

I think it might be the foam lining for the duct work coming loose. I found a couple of threads on it where one guy pulled apart his dash and another used a small flexible puller tool to remove the foam.

I'm going to try it this weekend (the latter method) and will post back here.

Ok well I found out the source of the problem in my case. It is indeed a piece of foam that is blocking the vent. I'm not sure how it's come loose. These is supposedly a TSB for it (could not find the TSB number)

Removing it was a PITA. You have one of two choices - rip apart the entire dash to access the vent and foam or use a grabber tool to try and get out the most you can. I did the latter - while the airflow has improved on that side it is still not as good as it used to be or that is on the drivers side.
