exactly. No lag time when you floor it you just effin GO in a MT. I would definitely go manual if you plan to do offroading with a s/c so you can pop the clutch at a higher RPM to hit the power band just right

 

quite the opposite. 1st gear is much lower with a manual trans

 

I installed the titanium red power band in my truck, spins tires no problem on pavement doing 130mph through a school zone.

that is the one thing I do love about my gmc. tow mode eliminates that

 

isn't that the funnest part of off road? I've never driven the s/c 4.0 i'm going off my old civic turbo i had when i was 16 that had zero low end power. The 4.0 might have better low end i know the 3.4 definatly did but i'd still want a manual with the s/c

 

I wish I could manually select gears in my auto for such things as controlling decents , engine braking and snow driving .

True! I manually shifted my 07 auto all the time. It saw "N" at every stop light also.

 

I just wish the auto had the autostick-type shifting. Going from L to D on the 5spd is like trying to get through downtown Chicago. You know you'll get there at some point but you don't know how mad you'll be when you finally do.

If it shifted like the Tundra... I may have opted that way instead of the 6 spd.

 

Oh but it is. The 2nd gen taco's will hold the gear you select until you take it out of that gear. Love it with a crawler.

 

DCLB Sport or SR5 ? Do you plan on upgrading the suspension or add lockers ?

 

If you are going to do all that , you should consider just getting a DCLB SR5 , and save some dosh

my ex-gf thought it was hot that i knew how to drive a stick, so I'd be sitting there, driving normally, while she was in the passenger seat getting all hot and bothered

 

oh and a manual's cheaper
