    yeah now that ive seen the switch, makes me cringe having to change speeds. As an engineer i see it as having to cram something in last minute, but who knows. Lots of things are done design wise for weird reasons.

    Whats up with the chuck?

    I think people get excited that it's steel, and beat it a bit much hammering concrete and it seems to not be grippy anymore.

    I have the old DCD980 and DCD995, both working just fine. I also have a DCD740 (right angle) but I hardly use it.

    Whats your favorite cordless 20v tool thats not a drill, impact driver or reciprocating saw. Looking to give the wife some ideas for Christmas.

    i am thinking the following so far, it would prob just be one of these, or im open to other ideas if theres a tool you cant live without. Impact wrench, circular saw, orbital sander, multitool.

    Of course for 6X6 or even 4x4, you will want the 7 1/4" - sometimes I wish I had a BIG 'EN but can't quite justify it.

    Multi-tool. Its really nice to pull that out to make single rough cuts of anything, wood, metal, drywall, etc. Or for quick touch up sanding.

    Best tool I ever bought besides those mentioned is a DeWalt cordless hedge trimmer. The thing is a beast. 5a battery has yet to go dead no matter how much I use it, which is a lot.

    When I need that thing it's great!!

    It has even saved my bacon by cutting carefully through screws and nails with no other way out.

    I used used it to cut into and match an existing oak floor. Took oak out of baffroom, put tile in. Needed to cut 3/4" oak planking at doorway nice and clean. Worked perfectly.

    I have used it to remove grout - This is kind of oddly rewarding if you ever had to dig grout out, yikes by hand!! Just get some junk blades (save old blades/Amazon/ebay) - it just wears the teeth of the blades but the old hard shit grout is gone, tile untouched, clean up, dry for days, then regrout. Wife love you a real long time after that!
