Ditch Lights

All of these look great! Do any of them impeded opening the hood? How hard is it to run the wires thru the firewall?

 

Thinking of ordering this same Stech system. Have you installed it yet? Any tips about the install?

 

Mine from @ragofabrication were bolt on and don’t interfere at all. I used a step bit to drill a hole through the firewall up above the pedals. No issues at all. Not sure if you can get them through without drilling but even if you wanted to resell it. Take them out no one would ever find the drilled hole

 

This should help give you an idea on the brackets. The video shows how they fit and how the hood is not affected.

I actually found a slick spot where the bracket that comes with the switch box bolts up to our taco's without any drilling. You just need two nuts that fit the existing, un-used studs that are behind the air intake box. I simply bent the bracket arms a little, and bolted it all up. The wiring runs cleaning around the back of the engine bay. I ran out of light and haven't ran the switch panel wire through the firewall yet. Here is the mounting location I found...

 

Do you have the sport or pro s2 as ditch lights? I searched your build thread and found where you put the S2 sports on the roof rack, but couldnt' find anything about the ditch lights.

Also, did you fab the ditch light brackets yourself too?

 

Do you have a picture of that new hole from in the engine bay? Im thinking of doing the same thing since its so hard to use the stock hole. Thanks

I love my setup! @CaliRaisedLed makes some good stuff. Only wish they would sell black powered coated light brackets with the pods instead of these silver ones.

Installed my Amazon knock off switch panel today...here are some pictures, everything works as it should, but I don't think Ive ever done so much wiring in a day...took me a lot longer than I anticipated. I wired the ACC wire into a 12v plug that I have my CB wired into...because I didn't think that taking a fuse out the panel, wrapping some exposed wire around it and shoving the whole thing back into the fuse slot seemed like the best idea... The switch panel lights up green...which is a bummer because It looked like red online, and the green clashes with my red and white gauges and interior but ehh Ill get over it. totally happy otherwise... and being the knock off version I guess we shall see how long it holds...







Installed a bed light while I was at it...

 

downside...green switch light is really fucking bright at night...need to cover up unused switches with stickers...pretty annoying
