    My truck was stolen and found like this. I didn't take pictures of the undercarriage because I was too upset and harried (5 days prior, I got a call saying my only brother was dead). Airbags deployed and the TJM bumper was burly and wonder how damaged the frame is. Before the adjuster comes, I need some advice. I never modified my policy to reflect the $2000+ work of aftermarket stuff I added to it. I creep on this forum at times, never posted before, but would appreciate some tips. Would love to recoup some money from this because I just lost several thousand due to having to drop everything and rush home to NY last week.

    Looks like the frame is bent to me, judging by the uneven gap at the cab and bed. That with the damage up front, it has gotta be a total loss.

    That aside, I'm sorry to hear about your brother. Good luck with that.

    Agreed. I wouldn't want it back either with frame damage like that. I would see if you can retrieve the topper before the insurance company takes possession as you won't get much more for it. Sorry to hear about your brother, can't even imagine going through that. Also welcome to the forum, lots of good people on here, even though your first post couldn't be under better circumstances.

    Sorry for your loss.

    Also, the truck will be totaled, with frame damage and airbags deployed there's no way it's not.

    The better coast
    Go for the cap and ask for your wheels back. If they don't let you have them see if a local member to you has an extra set of bald stockers they may be willing to part with so you can swap them out before the truck it taken away.

    sorry for your loss like everyone has said, the insurance will try to get out for as little as possible. and in this case totaling will be best for them. get everything you can off of there that is sellable or still ok if you are planning on getting another taco.

    ask your insurance if you can buy the truck after they settle with you. I totaled one and got the insurance check, gave $400 for the wrecked vehicle and fixed it for my daughter to drive.

    Sorry to hear OP, it seems like when it rains it pours. Like everyone else has said, the truck looks to be like a total loss. If you can, pull everything that you can off. Least you could sell or apply to a new vehicle if you wanted to.

    anytime the airbag deploys it's considered totaled no matter the body damage... as far as the accessories the insurance may have a cap depending on the plan you have for example my plan with USAA is $2000 anything above that is not covered;
    "what you save now; you'll pay for later".
    hope everything works out...

    Sorry to hear about your loss. I went through the same thing with a 350z about two years ago. It had a built motor in it, which I didn't have time to find a scrap one to put in. But I did go pull the radio, my gauges, and traded the wheels for stock ones. Sadly the Big brake kit and motor went with the car because the insurance company sold it out from underneath me before even telling me that it was totaled.

    Best of luck to you with the truck.
