    Does the ground signal for the relay come from the switch on the column then? I’m confused about the role the ECU plays since you can turn them on and off through the head unit.

    No, the light stalk switch "communicates" with Main Body ECU, same as head unit. The DRL relay ties into the Main Body ECU for activation.
