Not exactly performance centered, but I am all keeping the intake manifold and throttle body as clean as possible.

A catch can in direct line of the PCV valve is the most critical. Sure, not standard to have a catch can at all, but I can assure you, once your empty it, you will see the sludge that isn't entering the intake. The catch can does create a condensation point for extra stuff to accumulate, however it is just allowing it to condense prior to being recycled back into combustion camber.

Don’t forget, all that carbon and gunk coats the internals as well.

    Why.

a catch can does the job of a catch can. Meaning one not two.

pic also looks like cheapshit aftermarket. Which is what I have one of.
If the goal was “best” and “upgrade” it would be a higher quality catch can. Not two eBay ones.

This is why I mounted close to the engine. The heat burns off the water. Also, I’m probably in a more mild climate. That is a lot of water in your can. In the winter with snow you need to be careful, the system itself creates condensation when the can is much cooler than the fumes going through it. There was very little water in my can.

Amazon and well rated actually. Baffled and with steel wool. The intake side will collect, it’s not much but it’s enough for me to want to filter it. The OEM hose had oil in it at 5k miles. The PCV side obviously filters the most. It’s not an expensive can, but does a good job.
