I am working to armor up the underside of my 2013. I'm no rock crawler, but it would only take one branch or other minor obstacle to tear out critical wires or damage less than durable parts. I just added a full set of BubBuilt aluminum skids, and now I'm looking at the E-Locker. It doesn't seem very bash-proof, and again...wires. I'm liking the All Pro E-Locker Guard as a good compromise between protection and additional weight. Anyway, the fact that E-Locker is electronic and in a place that could easily become submerged during a water crossing, I hope it's waterproof. Is it, and does this degrade with age/use? Do seals or other parts need preventative maintenance to keep things tight? How about the connections?

Access cab with child seat in the back, yellow wire mod, diff breather relocated to tail light, engine block heater, Leer topper with Yakima tracks and rack, Yakima rack on cab, Ride Rite air bags with Daystar cradles, CBI hidden front hitch, wired for winch front and rear Warn quick connect, Warn x8000i on external carrier, sway bar delete, trailer plug relocated to under bumper, Pelfreybilt IFS and Mid skids, BAMF Tcase skid, ECGS front diff bushing, ARB CKMA12 compressor, 255/85/16 Backcountry MT 3 load E tires on stock steel rims, Toyo M55 tires (same size) on another set of stock steelies, Up2NoGood heated mirror kit, Husky X-act Contour front floor liners, Northstar AGM 24F battery under the hood, Northstar 27F in the cab, Redarc 25 amp DC to DC charger, Pelfreybilt bolt on sliders with kickout and top plates, TRD Pro headlights, Depo smoked tail lights, Energy suspension body mount bushing kit, OME Dakar leaf packs with AAL, OME rear shocks, OME 90021 front shocks with 885 coils, SPC LR UCAs, Up2NoGood 2wd low range mod, 4 Wheel Campers Grandby slide in camper, 4xinnovations high clearance rear bumper, Uniclutch 800 lb/ft clutch
They get submerged all the time. As long as you've extended the breather, you're good. I'd do the armor too, if I had e-locker.

all you need is to make sure the breather gets extended above water line and never gets fully blocked

also need to check condition of axle seals constantly if you go in water a lot

if you worry about elocker connecter, I drowned mine about 80 times in 17 years and not
once has it failed to lock (I use it about every week) so ....over 416 faultless elocker engagements so far

I already extended the breather up to the inside of one of the storage compartments in the bed, and added a two-way breather to the end. Sounds like I just need to worry about impacts to the E-locker unit.

    Thanks!
