See if you can find the X6 connector.
Test for power there.

 

0.12 volts

 

So you have 12v coming out of the switch?
But only .12v making to the X6 connector?
Are you back probing the connector?

You can’t really test that connector with it unplugged.
Power comes in and out of it…..

 

Yes, the connector is plugged in with the key on, and stuck the probe in the back

 

You found a problem
Now, it’s up to you on how you want to fix it?

 

I just got under ther again, and pulled the wire cover back. It’s chewed in two from a furry little tenant.

I thought open circuit from the start just the question of finding it.

Schematics make this so much easier!

 

Sorry, yes. Cut the chewed wire further up the harness and capped it off. Then tied the dead wire going into the ECU directly to the wire that sends power when the PTO switch is pulled. That leaves the mower with the seat and brake switches intact and just removes the reverse switch from the equation which is what I wanted to do anyway. It ran and mowed great.
