Eibach vs. Bilstein

Eibach Pro stage 2r, or Bilstein 6112/ 5160?

This will be in combo with a set of new leafs, but i need to lift the truck up for some clearance after all that weight i put on it. Ill be getting some heavier than stock coils i think, with the winch and bumper 700lb springs sound about right.

 

I don't have experience with either shock, but I run 600# springs with an aluminum bumper 9500 winch, and rock sliders, 40k miles on this set up

 

Do the 600's run stiff?

 

No, I'd say they're as light as you'd want to go with a winch and bumper, I'd imagine 700's would rattle my teeth out.

 

I have installed and rode in numerous Tacoma's with both. The 6112's ride much better than the stage 2. 6112's all day long, the eibach stage 2 feels like Bilstein 5100's and once you get into that 2-2.5" lift range they have less down travel and dont ride as smooth as the 6112's.

get either the 650 or 700 spring, the 650 will feel much nicer, personally with a bumper and a winch, I'd run the 650 spring with maybe a 1/4" spacer on top of each side (Plus the offset clip for taco lean) if your trying to get a little more height out of them with the weight. But every setup is going to be a little different.

There is also several 6112 models out there and you want the 11 clip model

A small one wont hurt anything. But i wouldn't go more than 1/4" with it.

 

I am looking at the either the EIBACH Stage 1, or Stage 2. As a beginner…I do not plan to do any hard scrabble or extreme terrain. Mostly snow/ice and some light/moderate terrain. A 2/1 lift would be decent I believe. As one can see, my Tacoma is still stock (recently purchased). I will be adding a Cali Raised type bumper, with wench. And, maybe 275/70/17 wheels/tires.

 

Cant wait to see that bumper
