1991 3.0 5SP 4X4 156k purchased new While driving engine dies and comes right back. At 3000+ rpms drops 1500 rpms but comes back. Problem developed after driving 35 miles (violent shaking) on a washboard road at Chaco Canyon NM in 2004. Has gotten progressively worst. Have replaced distributor, plugs/wires, CPU, spark igniter, MAS. Can not recreate the issue at idle, pulled, tapped, checked on various: wiring, grounds, varies electrical components. I have a Toyota shop manual which allows me to read the diagnostic codes but that is a little technical for me and so its been a dead-end. Sounds like ground issue, but I think its an electrical component. Any input would be appreciated.
