Hello all, new to the forum been trying to find answers to my problem. I have an 01' Tacoma Xcab with the 2.7l. Im at about 190k miles manual tranny. Basically I was driving down the road not long after starting the truck. When the engine just seemed to bog down. Once that started it died out. Didnt have radio on and there were no noises or pops or anything when it started to bog out. Tried restarting several times, it would catch and fire then immediately die out again. If I pumped the gas it would barley run but nothing more than 1500rpm let off it would die. If I left the key on a bit after trying then hit it again it would almost get to idle then die. Seemed like a fuel issue so replace filter which was due to be replaced anyway, then replaced fuel pump after brief conversation with toyota dealer. Now going through and cleaning sensors and tps cleaning. Just wondering if anyone else has had this type of issue or any advice of what to check. All shops around me have a $180 diagnostic fee alone plus have to get it hauled in so thats gonna cost too. Any help would be appreciated.

Buy a code reader - far less then $180 or go to a auto parts store that will check codes for free - they do like you to buy the parts from them - trucks now are all about computers - a computer with wheels. Test B 4 changing parts. You replaced a fuel pump - did U test pressure or disconnect the fuel line 2 C how long it took to fill a Snapple bottle - very technical I know.
