Engine noise

I been hearing a noise under front end. It sounds like a air leak, almost like a hissing noise as I put more load on engine. The hell with turning up my radio, I want it fixed. Can someone point me in right direction?

 

Exhaust leak maybe?? Kind of hard to diagnose over the internet without a sound clip or video.. 4 or 6 cyl?

 

Aftermarket intake? Do you have a throttle spacer?

 

It's a 4. No leak there they checked by plugging the exhaust. He said maybe inside the header..any thoughts?

 

It's all stock

 

I'm up for changing anything to shut it up. Lol

 

Supercharger fixes everything !

 

I thought by having the new cat piece put in that it would stop it but didn't.

 

Hissing... hmmm. I doubt it would be from the exhaust. Doesn't the air pump make a hissing noise when you first start up? Is it possibly not shutting off?

Trying to think what else it could be

 

Maybe record and post on here. Kind of hard to tell right now if it's normal or something is broken.

 

Once letting it have few min at start up it makes noise and that goes away. But if your let's say going down the road next to cars, and you let off and press gas down over and over your hear what sounds like a air leak reflecting off the cars, or wall

 

What was the "new cat piece" that you had put in?

 

Tacomaboy its hard to do when I have no one to help me but if your under truck by cat and header you can hear the air leak. Some say to replace header with aftermarket.

 

You said you're stock so I'm assuming it's not an intake... but that being said I know my airbox didn't latch back on properly for me one time. Maybe your airbox isn't sealed all the way? Shooting in the dark here

 

It was a 4ft pipe piece that had the cat in middle

 

just saw this, could be a header leak if you haven't checked that

 

It was a recall that had locked up on me

 

New question - can you head it while idling? or only while moving?

 

Just moving or putting load on it I should say the more load the loader.

 

Is it definitely from the engine? Or could it be the brakes or wheels rubbing on something. My other car just got something stuck in the caliper that sounds like a hissing/slight grinding noise as I speed up.
