    my truck is overheating, not all the way but way above normal. doesn't overheat immediatly, but after about 15 min will start to rise a little. seems to go down with acceleration though, but will start to go back up eventually. I'm pretty sure it is either the radiator or fan clutch. don't really have the money to be wrong. anyone no a sure fire way to tell which one it is?

    Simple and cheap stuff first.
    Take the thermostat out and put it boiling water. If it doesn't open, it's bad.
    Make sure your fluid level is correct.

    all fluids good and everything. Also, i can turn the heater on and make the temp drop as well

    I would think the fan clutch is the culprit then.

    Although, at normal operating temp. i'm able to have the radiator cap off. Doesn't seem to be much movement in the water..should there be?

    No, there shouldn't be. If it were churning or spewing out, it would be a sign of a bad head gasket.

    Safety, steam flash or a flash boil could occur.

    That makes since!!... So now I'm back to sqare one. I did do the fan test. When i first started the truck i could stop the fan with my hand. After it got to operating temp, i could not.

    Have you tried flushing the radiator? They make cheap in line kits you can get at any auto parts store. What color is you fluid?

    yeah i have flushed it a while back and when i did it was pretty dirty, but appears to be clean now
