    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
    2008 V6 access cab
Time to do exhaust work, tail pipe rusted off
    Thoughts on flow master muffler?
Anyone have one, what do you have, how do u like it
I’d be looking for a gentle rumble nothing very pronounced or loud
Also thinking of terminating before axle with a downward tip
    All thoughts and suggestions please
    Thanks and appreciated

My brother in law has a flow master cat back dual exhaust that was on His 2016 V6 Taco when he bought it. The sound is annoying, we make fun of him because we can hear him coming. Ha can’t wait for it to rust out so he can replace it. my opinion go for a stock like option, In my opinion V6s with a less restrictive exhaust sound like crap.

I have a flowmaster 40 or 50 don't really remember to be honest but it's louder than stock for sure. Cut before the axle with a 90 degree elbow pointing down. It melted the coating on the brake lines above the axle but that doesn't really matter.

It does make it louder in the cab, especially cutting before the axle you'll have some drone at high speed cruising but if you play music it won't bother too much.

It's never gonna sound remotely as good as a V8 or diesel but if you're conservative and just go one step louder than stock it'll be alright

I used a walker quiet flow comes with complete tail pipe and all hangers on plus lifetime warranty about $110. Not much drone but a little and at full throttle gets loud but at other speeds pretty quiet. Cheaper option and no cutting of tail pipe. Painted it all black so not too visible under there. When it craps get a new one free.

What 4wd FTW said is accurate about the noise. If you turn it down in front of the axle, you’re going to get a pretty fair amount of noise in the cab, depending on what exhaust tip you use there and what muffler, may be to the point of being really annoying, but that’s just my opinion cause I really don’t like loud exhausts

All good thoughts and thank you
Maybe I’ll go the walker route or just plain stock
I’m kinda over the “performance” noise but do like a low rumble

    Nice low rumble
Not obnoxious at all but ran pipes out each side just behind rear tires

Below cab cut short is going to resonate more and be louder, up to you whatever youre after.

Pair it with a decent intake and done

    Again appreciate all comments/suggestions
Now what if I got the 50 series but continued pipe to over the axle and then downflow
    Eliminate going out the side
Would any drone become an issue in the cab

    Maybe a little.
Probably not as bad as before the axle and be a little louder than mine.

Have to hear from someone who has it like that.

Exhaust work isn't too bad. You can always switch it up if you want later on. You can just tack the 90 elbow in place too since an exhaust leak that far back won't matter

You just described my smog routine with my old chevy.

Weld on the pipes to get smog.
Straight back to the shop and cut em off right after the mufflers.
    Good for two more years.

Behind the axle and a pipe size close to stock and you probably won’t have bad drone in the cab

Yeah thinking this is what I’ll do and
Use stock pipe over the axle and trim it to point downward somewhat
Keep part I cut off in case I want to weld it back together
Now best place to get a 50 series?

Here’s mine, it sounds great to me. A little louder but not obnoxious. Mostly louder at lower RPM when taking off or accelerating, it quiets down when cruising. It’s a Flowmaster 40 Series set up exactly as you described:
