Just got a call from my dealer...my '09 is here and ready to be picked up! Sweet...

Also, threw the number Troy quoted me for the 7 year, 100,000 mile Platinum plan his way and they agreed to meet Troy's price ($805 - sorry, Troy, if you're reading this, but I'd like to give them the business as they'll be the one's doing the service).

I was offered a similar warranty and took it. Over the length of financing, it costs about $85 per year, at least mine does. One major failure and it is paid. A couple small ones, and it is paid.

Right now, I have a small issue where the flapper on my gas tank, right where you insert the nozzle, is gone. It is quite an experience when filling up. When the tank is full, the pump normally shuts off. Mine shoots out like old faithful and at $4 a gallon, it hurts even more. I will take that in and probably have my warranty paid for.

I was a finance guy for a while, and think that extended warranties are a pretty good deal if, and ONLY if:

    1) The dealer doesn't mark them up an outrageous amount.
    2) It is a FACTORY warranty, NOT a fly by night

When I was selling Hondacare, there were never any hassles with claims, and people always got refunded when they traded in a car with warranty left on it.

I had an '01 Tacoma with an extended warranty on it. Paid $900 for the warranty and was pretty damn happy to have it when the transfer case went out at 70,000 miles. Anyone that thinks that just because it is a Toyota that it's flaw proof is an absolute fool.
