Well... another thread got me looking at bump stops for my lifted Pro. I want to add enough to get back to the factory down travel and protect the shocks on the front. Can anyone here get a measurement on a non-lifted OR or Pro on the gap between the front bump stop and the frame?

If I can get this number I can add the correct amount of bump spacer...
It is not the same as your lift spacer due to the location in the suspension.

you installed lift brackets on a TRD pro Tacoma ? As in upper/lower a-arm pivots were moved down, along with the front differential and steering rack?

So then why would you lower your bump stops? You would only lose up-travel. They only practical scenario where you would lower your bump stops is if you installed a "drop bracket" kit and are relocating the entire suppression ...down. Your total travel is determined by your suspension pivots/CV/steering before they bind up. Where you sit in that travel range, at ride height, doesn't give you more or less travel.

**edit: this concept also applies to clearing and fitting larger tires. "Lifting" your truck will not let you clear any bigger tire vs stock height. You may not rub as often but as soon as your suspension compresses, the tire will still hit what ever it was rubbing against. This concept seems to escape a lot of people.

Really? People actually do this? Lose suspension travel for a look? This concept is so dumb it was beyond my imagination.

    I see.

It seems counter intuitive. Wouldn't you blow through whoops with more suspension travel (especially more up-travel)? Seems kind of like a jimmy rigged way to "lift" your truck and not have to pay the price of doing it properly (like installing the correct length/stroke shocks)
