Anyone use short/light barrels for the purpose of being lighter?

 

I haven't been back to the green sea since I cured Virgil. I need to go back to discover the rest of it and fight some more challenging enemies. OG sniper rifle with maxed out perks and mods is insane

 

Only on fully auto rifles

 

Can provisioners die? Pretty sure I had a supply line all the way from starlight to the castle, noticed I couldn't build shit over here.

 

I had one get stalled up in a battle a block away from a settlement which prevented me from building things with materials at other settlements.

I lost my provisioner to sanctuary island this evening actually. No idea where she fell or under what circumstances. I went fast-travel to the new home base and had only the mats in the local workbench.

Zip over to a nearby settlement, assign a new route...bang...full inventory again

 

Weird. There is a rumor around that's been mentioned on here that normal NPC settlers will die on the crossing to the big island but I didn't know whether to believe it or not.

 

Just as an aside...

Things I would love to tell Bethesda

1. Make the 'help defend settlement X' message either happen more than once, or stick out more. For as rare as it is for me to see the message, and I *always* go there immediately to defend, I'm getting really sick and fucking tired of finding settlements with half the turrets needing repair after never knowing they were attacked.

2. Why the FUCK does hacking a terminal break sneak but lockpicking doesn't? It never used to break sneak. STOP IT.

3. I'm inside a 5 story metal building. I should NOT be getting rad exposure and rain droplets on the visor of my power armor on the second floor when it rains. FFS

4. The non-remappable controls are a show stopper. If I had known that using the arrow keys as the gods obviously intended to control movement would cock up EVERY single 'forced radiant conversation' you get stuck in with no warning, I honestly wouldn't have paid full price on release day and would have waited for a fixer mod. Fuck you with a ghoul-plaque infested garden rake for this 'feature'

 

If so, it isn't immediate. I've had this trade route open for days. And not game days...I mean I opened it earlier this week. ANd you guys have an idea how much I play

 

My old game had no issues either with the crossing over weeks.

 

Yea, I'm guessing she fell victim to mutants or raiders or some shit honestly, I haven't cleared much out in the SE corner of the map on this playthrough yet

 

Well shit since the trek is so far for these feeble provisioners now I'm gonna have to build up oberland to hangmans alley and then to the castle.

I read a bunch of posts where people were having provisioners die on the route to Spectacle Island by radiation and giving them a Hazmat Suit kept that from occuring

 

IF this one dies out in the next week or two, I'll try that on the replacement just to see if I can confirm/deny

 

also read that it's safest to send that provisioner there either directly from the Castle or from Warwick Homestead because nothing can attack them in the water and those are both all water crossings

 

So I guess the new rule of thumb now is don't have provisioners/settlers hold special/legendary equipment.
Most of my settlers have sturdy/heavy combat armor.
