For anyone in the north bay the one in San Rafael has a good tech who worked with me to get the numbers I was looking for. It took a little hand holding and convincing that everything would be okay, but we got there.

I've got it but only 1 location which is an hour from me can align 35s. When I do take it there it still isn't right. I'm taking it to an alignment shop near me that specializes in 18 wheelers so hope they are better

Am I the only one who has an aversion to Firestone? Every time I've been in there the "service manager" needs to go over about 2K in repairs my vehicle "needs." Lots of $40 air filter, $30 PCV valve type "needs." I said "fuck that place" a long time ago...this thread makes me start to wonder if it's just in my home town where they had that approach.

Varies by the branch. The one by me does exactly what I ask, the alignment tech let's me hang out with him and dial it in to get what I want. They never try to sell me anything else.

They don’t bother me with that crap. They know what I’m after by just looking at my truck. It helps that most of the guys are truck guys at the local Firestone.

They did. Really liked them, and will return if I need anything. Have gone to a couple of their events as well.

that's all I need to hear to send them my business.

The Chop Shop (literally their name) in Dixon, CA quoted me $260 and said they're scheduling a month out for alignments. Hmmm...

I am hit or miss with my local firestone. Love the lifetime alignment, rotation, and balancing and that it’s across the street from my work. Makes it a no brained for work I don’t enjoy or have the time/tools to do. Although they lack depending on the tech and you do get “you have a slight oil weep, we recommend a new engine”. I’ve never done more than I sent it in for and just take note of their recommendations and do them myself.

I have it on 2 lifted trucks, never had a single issue with them doing the work and doing it correctly. They never try and upsell me shit, either. Really just a bunch of cool dudes (and one hot female advisor) who always seem to go out of their way for me.

$190 for lifetime alignment is a no brainer especially if you like to play around with suspensions, tires, etc. I guess if your local shop sucks then you are SOL though.

I guess that's what it comes down to. Good to know that many people have good experiences there...it makes me believe the entire company isn't on the "$45 air filter sales-competition" plan.

I’ve had the firestone lifetime alignment on my truck since 2012 (110,000 miles, dozens of alignments) and my Civic before that for like 6 years.

I’ve never had any Firestone’s refuse my truck with OME all around and after market UCA’s. I’ve had them done in a few locations in CA, a couple wheel works, one time in Texas and a couple in Arkansas.

I’ve had a few do a less than good job but no one has her said we won’t try.

They've never said that to me either, it's usually just that they won't do custom numbers outside of factory specs (like when I ask for 3˚ caster). Toyota's caster spec maxes at 2something for 1st gens and that's as high as they will put it, but the 4x4 alignment shop down the street from me does 3˚ every time.

I do use my lifetime package though if I just need a basic toe and go alignment
