Flooding

Anyone being affected by all the flooding?

 

I'm getting lucky, My house is far enough west and my truck (at heliport) is far (hopefully) enough east to be save. However when I get to the truck it will be an adventure to say the least to get home.

Hoping for the best for everyone that will be affected. we'll be very busy here.

I wont be affected to bad where i a but a few miles from my place they have been breaching dikes. basically the whole RM of Portage will flooded. My uncle lives only half a mile away from this breach. The next few days it will only get worse.

My house and neighborhood should be all set-but I'm going to be busy with work for the next couple weeks.
Lots of folks getting displaced and going to be out of their houses for a good long while...

Thanks Lucas- And you be careful getting home. I was deployed up North and saw WAY too many people try to drive thru water...Luckily they made it or turned around-but it can get bad so quick.

 

I flew from the west coast to Atlanta on Thursday and when we got over Memphis I couldn't believe how much the Mississippi had grown. Water everywhere. I sincerely hope everyone in the area stays safe.

 

Looks like opening the Morganza Spillway has done the trick. The Mississip was not forecast to crest until the 23rd, but it looks like it actually crested in the area today...I have not seen the photos of the spillway area yet...

 

I think we would need to have had a single drop of rain within the last 3 months to worry about flooding
