Are you in a loaner? This is a very long wait for a frame, much longer than most. I think you might want to contact corporate. Ask the dealership for the contact info. I betting this will speed up the process.

Mine failed in September 2015 and didn’t get new frame until March 2016. So six months not absurd. They offered a loaner the whole time but let me drive the truck through hunting season.

Drove by the dealer, truck hasnt moved from the same spot for going on 6 weeks. Looks like one of the new tires may have a slow leak :(. But, there is a shiny new frame sitting on some skids by the service bays. :fingerscrossed:

No loaner. I have a feeling the frame is sitting there and they are just behind and using the frame supplier as a scapegoat. I am resisting the urge to complain since they said they are perfectly fine with me buying parts online and having them install them during the swap. I don't want to piss them off and then decide to nickel and dime me for extra stuff when the time comes. Truck's alignment isn't great because the cams are frozen and I'm not going to replace them when they'll be doing it with the frame anyway, so it's a little annoying taking summer trips with almost no caster, but whatever.

You get new LCA with the frame swap. Front end alignment is one of the last steps.

That's some BS. The process dealerships are to follow is laid out by corporate and they specifically state that a loaner is to be provided during the entire process from the day the frame is qualified as needing replaced to the day you drive it home, weather it be a loaner the dealer provides or through a rental agencies like Hertz or Enterprise. My local dealer has an Enterprise car kiosk in their service dept reception area. It's all covered and reimbursed through corporate. I'd encourage you to make an inquiry or call to corporate regarding your lengthy wait to have this completed sooner and mention to them the other things you seem to have been denied or not provided the courtesy of during this inconvenience you've experienced. Have you read the dealer PDF corporate sent to dealers explaining how to proceed with the warranty enhancement program?

Our hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CT Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT Saturday.

If anything they'll help to light a fire under the dealers ass expediting your situation. I haven't seen or heard of a wait like yours since this warranty enhancement program originally began and trucks where being approved faster than they could provide frames. You should not be put to the end of the line while they prioritize other customers with easy work orders.

You are not required to pay a penny out of pocket for this process. I drove away from the dealer with my truck on a new frame and never reached for my wallet once, except to provide a copy of insurance and driver's license for the loaner. Don't be afraid to piss them off, the squeeky wheel gets the grease, and I got just loud enough for them to realize I'm not one of the typical people they have roll through their doors without creating a big scene in public. I had to be an asshole to get my frame approved, and I had to be an asshole to get them to fix my truck properly. By the end, they really hated me and at one point called and said to come get it off their lot, and they weren't going to spend anymore time on it. I told them that's fine I'll take this higher up and that I'm coming to get it. When I arrived their tune had changed and once the truck was in acceptable running condition and I was happy I shook the service directors hand and gave him my word, they'd never see me or this truck again as long as I owned it. He smirked and said thanks for letting us make this right. It was a process I began to regret but now that Its done, and I'm glad I did it.

They did a preinspection and gave me a list of items they suggested needed replaced, but they were not conditional to proceeding with the frame replacement. The labor and parts/materials needed are covered by corporate 100% and if you desire to have replacement parts installed instead of the old parts they have removed, you should not pay additional labor to the dealer just the cost of said parts you wish to replace or upgrade. Items such as shocks, body mount bushings and other directly related items are removed to perform the replacement. Also if they say something broke during the process because it was rusted, don't pay for those items either as they should be considered ancillary or incidental to the process. It wasn't broken when they took possession of it so it shouldn't be broken when you get it back.

Things like brake pads or brake shoes, wheel bearings or sparkplugs etc are not typically needed to be exposed or removed to do the swap so expect additional labor if you ask to have things like that performed at that time. You should get new coolant, AC recharge, brake fluid flush/bleed and a top off of ATF, if auto trans, since those systems are opened/exposed in order to separate the engine from the frame and body. Along with a fresh alignment of the front end since new lower control arms are installed and the truck won't drive right without them performing an alignment.

hey guys, I have kind of glanced through this thread and am wondering if this stands a shot at failing? I have until November 2020 to get it inspected, but curious what you guys think. I live in Western PA and the truck has been here since 2009. It actually isnt as bad as i thought it would be under there after looking at others in this thread.

I have a 2010 (July 4 2010 date of first use) but I can’t find my letter anywhere. How long do I have to get the frame inspected? I have already gotten the CRC coating by the dealer, does that matter? My frame looks good (on outside at least) but I do want to get it looked at again before the warranty expires.

    Already bad in my book.
1 square cm perforation needed for a fail.

it does not really look like a perforation to me though. looks more like the layers are splitting apart, i guess i will schedule a visit and go from there.

I need to get back under and look. I honestly didn’t notice that when I took the pic but it does look a lot like a hole.

No it wasnt. I just took it in for an oil change. Had the CRC done about 18 months earlier and Toyota had just extended the deadline and my 06 had 3 more months left. He found the hole while doing a courtesy check. The frame looked good unless you really checked it closely. In 2 years it would have been toast. They saved my ass and gave me back a truck thats going to last me a LONG time. GREAT customer service.
