I had mine checked today. I didn't think it would fail but it did. New Frame in 12 weeks or so. They also informed me that on my 2010 that I just put Dakars on, to save the paperwork and they would reimburse me. We'll see....

I'm not sure if that state is on the recall as of now.

My frame has an incredible amount of surface rust and some separation. Another person posted the separation on his frame that appeared worse than mine, so I hoped to find a hole by the cat. Checked the passenger side first, nothing. It's a little more difficult to get to the frame rail on the drivers side, stuck a screwdriver up there and tapped it with a hammer, holy crap, it easily went through. Making my appointment this week, I wonder if they would make a deal if I didn't need the rental.

I doubt they will do any deals on the rental. It's all coming out of Toyota Corporate's pocket and you are dealing with the dealer. They have no incentive to make a deal with you.

Your profile says 2003 Tacoma Xtra Cab. This recall is for 2005-08 Tacomas.

That was a prior campaign that i'm pretty sure has ended. They were actually buying back the Gen 1 Tacos.

Well, that sucks. I don't think I have much rust, other than the gas tank skid, so I may be in luck.

Really? I just pulled the trigger on All-pro expo pack, Ubolt flip kit, extended brake lines, and fox shocks due to the recall and when I talked to someone in corporate he said "I'm not sure about reimbursement, but I wouldn't bank on it." I'm putting everything on Friday and then going to the dealer saturday for the frame inspection so I guess I'll get some more info then.

Called my dealer for an update, it's been a month since they ordered my frame. Was told "we're sitting right around 2 month wait for frames." But he also said they're still waiting on another frame they ordered in July. Go figure...
