So I used to think that bullbars were meant for protection. then I saw what a could happen to these things and changed my thinking. They are tin foil. The other thing was the bull bars, even if they could withstand impact, basically act as a lever and could really do some damage in other areas.

Now I see so many of these aftermarket bumpers that are made by ARB and so many of the venders here on TW. These bumpers seem like they would would hold up very well, during an impact otherwise, what would be the point in getting them installed anyways?

How are most of these bumpers attached to the truck? Could they really take a beating? How would they hold up in an accident where the truck was going say...30mph and hit a parked car? whats reality on these bumpers?

My current car has taken a beating. My car has been violated on three separate occassions. When I buy a Tacoma, I would love to protect this thing from the careless drivers out there.

I have an ARB front bumper which mounts directly to the frame of the vehicle. I'm extremely pleased with it and know it will take one hell of an impact to do a large amount of damage.
