I have an 06 Tacoma 4x4. It has a slight vibration/hum in the front end, that I can feel a bit in the floor board. The vibration/hum stops when I turn right only? Is this a bad wheel bearing or control arm? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Email me bpace16@gmail.com

My tires are pretty bad. This all started because I had a terrible shimmy at about 65 mph. Then I took them to get balanced, I had lost several weights. After the balance is when it all started. Hope it is just bad tires?? Thank you

I would start by replacing your tires with some quality ones.

Will do. I appreciate your help! I initially thought that was the case. Hopefully that is the issue. Thanks again.

Hi, did you figure this out? I have the same issue and was assuming it is crappy tires...but my hum/vibration completely stops only when i turn to the right...will be putting on new winter tires soon to see if that helps...

my 2005 Tacoma 2 Wheel Dr. with automatic transmission has a
vibration at low speed when I start to put power to the engine
to accelerate or climb a hill.
Once I get going the truck runs fine with no vibration.
The engine checked out on a scanner okay.
I saw a TSP 0132 08 on this site for vibration between
15 to 25 miles an hour vibration. The replacement mount
is over $100 and doesn't guarantee a Fix.
Does anyone have the same experience and I am having?
    Regards
    Ed

I took it to a mechanic and he was sure it was a wheel bearing. The driver side, because when you turn right, it stops becuase the weight is unloaded a little. (which makes sense) I got 2 quotes to do one side, all were 450-550 parts/labor. I went and bought a good japanese bearing assembly, and did the job myself in about 2 hours! Easy job, i dont have a bearing press, so had to take that in to get pressed for 50 bucks. No big deal.

So have you replaced it? All good now?

I will tell you today. I am picking it up today to put it back on. However when I had the rotor off.... it was making a terrible sound when I turned it and i could shake that thing back and forth.... Im sure this will fix the problem, probably have to do the passenger side soon as well.

It was indeed my wheel bearing! It is all good, smooth and quiet. Total cost was 130 for the bearing assembly and 30 bucks to get pressed(because I dont have a press) 160 compared to the 550 i got quoted. Easy Job

Just stumbled on across this post while searching, i also need a new front drivers side bearing...my question is ( as i havent done this before) do u have to have the bearing pressed? or can you buy a fully sealed unit to just bolt on?
    Any tips on the install?
    Thanks

I went and bought a wheel hub assembly (buy a quality assembly, I spent 140) Very easy job, and I have no air tools, jack stands, breaker bar, get it off and I dont have a press, so I took it to a mechanic and they pressed it apart from the hub and onto the new bearing assembly for like 50 bucks. Even though it only took them like 10 minutes.. haha. Super easy job do not take it in if you have any mechanical aptitude at all. I got quoted 2 times for $550 a side! Rip off!
