Front Receiver options?

Been thinking about a front receiver for my 2003, however I can't seem to find any info online. A few websites offer the hitch itself for around $100 bit I can't seem to find any additional info. Thinking about rigging something up to hold a hook and cb antenna, and of course to move a trailer around in tight spaces once in a blue moon

Hoping this is a cheaper alternative to an arb bumper as I don't want to cut up the bumper mounts for that option. How much drilling/cutting is required for the hitch?

 

Build you one. I built this one recently and had it powdercoated.

 

I didn't know I needed one of these till I saw this, nice welds there!

 

Not sure how you'd fit a CB antenna on a front hitch receiver...

However the ones above don't have true recovery points, those loops I guess are for trailer chains or tie downs. Not recovery.

For a front hitch, use a hitch recovery point like this:

In a pinch you can just stick the end of your tow strap in the receiver and put a pin thru the loop. Not the greatest as far as part longevity...

Just to have that Mall crawler look for when your stuck in the back of the parking lot .

It would also depend just how it needs to attach

model 31013. I just installed one on my truck. The biggest hassle was drilling for the 2 forward holes.

@Yota03DC how much drilling did you have to do? That's pretty clean, looks natural.

As for my thoughts on the CB antenna, I'll post some images tomorrow of what I was thinking about, too hard to explain

 

You have to drill for the 2 points marked “enlarged hole”. Those holes were not there on my 2001 original frame so it added a bit of extra measuring. The hitch can be installed without removing the bumper though which was nice.

 

I didn’t have to do any drilling on the truck. I just used the 2 holes on each side where the tie downs were.

 

I had the CURT on my old '02 PreRunner, and it was a pretty easy install. Drilling wasn't terrible. Worked great to get my ass unstuck many a time. Might get another for my '03.
