New led lights installed. I was going to go with the oem style lights, but wanted something different, since everyone wants or has the oem leds

my headlight is in the oven as we speak..... here goes nothin.... h1 retrofit or fail, either way there will be pictures!

Can you notice the lost in power with the 6in lift and 33's?

 

Around town, not so much, on the freeway, very much so. On flat or downhill freeway sections, runs great, anything uphill and its its a challenge to keep it from downshifting a lot. Still worth the purchase IMO, but we will see.

Alright thanks. I want to do a 6" lift, but I can't decide if I should go with 33"s or 35"s. Also I've heard if you redo the air intake and exhaust that can help get some of the power back. Have you heard anything about that?

 

Thats an ongoing arguement.... Some people will claim they get more HP, others will argue that you wont. From what i have gathered, bolt on upgrades will lower your mpg. I havent done anything with my exhaust, or airbox, so i cannot comment or speculate but i plan on putting in an afe pro-dry one of these days...

 

Yeah that's what I have heard too. For your rear suspension did you just use the parts in the lift kit, or did you do something different? I'm debating if I want to do an AAL with U-Bolt or get whole new leaf springs. What do you think/have heard?

 

supercharger or gears is your best bet at getting power back. the exhaust and air intake are mostly for noise.

 

The fabtech kit that i bought came with some aftermarket shocks for the rear, an AAL, and blocks. I don't know if the aftermarket shocks are worth anything, but there are other options out there. I believe Comatose HI just bought some alcan leaf packs for his rear 6" lift so he can ditch the blocks, stock leaf springs and whatever else came with his kit. My kit also came with everything you need for the lift. I didn't have to buy any additional parts at all, and the shop i bought it from installed it for me for free because i bought it from them. Not all shops will do that, but mine did.

For the future of my lift.... right now, i have no money for anything big.... I would like 6" leafs in the back, and some sort of coilover for the front, but i don't have the money right now. If you buy a 6" kit, the best thing that i would suggest to you is buy some billy 5100's, leave them at the 0 setting and install them in place of your stock shocks. That alone will help the ride a lot, and that's what i should have done. I had the 5100's, and sold them when i shouldnt have. Owell i guess, but it all depends on what you want to do.

If you don't want that extreme of a lift, you may want to look into the rcd 4.5" lift. That is a nice kit too, however its the same price as a 6" kit. Just something to think about.

the billy 5100's. Are you talking about using them for the rear or front? The kit I'm looking at comes with coil overs for the front.
