Garage Layout Help

Hey All -

So, long story short, around 12 years ago, my Dad and I built close to identical 28'x32' garages. When he built his though, he put the scissor trusses on the "wrong" side, and didn't leave enough room to install a two post lift. He uses his garage more like a man-cave. Stores his 'Vette", has a scotch cabinet, a bar area, a beer fridge and ice maker. Doesn't have what I would call a lot of tools in it that don't fit in a standard 5' tall, 26" Craftsman box. Mine on the other hand, is completely filled with projects, too many tools, and a nice 9,000 lbs lift.

Fast forward to next spring, I'm going to be purchasing his house, which is bigger, and has more property than mine, but will come with a garage that I can't move all my tools into, let alone my two post over to because of the roof trusses. I have permission from the wife to put an addition on, and I don't think I can go back to working on cars without a lift. I'm too spoiled and it makes me feel even older.

So I'm starting to plan a bit so that I can start construction on the garage before we move in. I need to make sure I can fit tools I have now, like the lift, a mill, etc, and it will also give me an opportunity to make a few improvements.

I currently have a 4-door long bed with a pop-up camper on it, and in a few years looking to go to a larger slide in camper, so that's what the RV size area is for. The current one is 9'-2" tall, and the newer one will likely be around 12'-4" tall or so. The main bad thing about this layout is that I'd have to pull it out before any lift work. I'm not sure I can afford to make it bigger, either financially or with the wife and neighbors.

I threw the layouts below together trying to think of options. Looking for input on the layout and see if anyone has any better thoughts to make a lift work and still be able to keep the truck inside without making it too much bigger.

Thanks for any help, suggestions for the current layout, or thoughts on something else I can do to keep the size similar and still accomplish the goals of a lift and the big truck.
