    Hi All,

My 04 Tacoma is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It’s been a joy to drive and a real workhorse. It just went over 166,000 miles.

It was purchased in the summer of 2004. After driving it for a month, it sat in storage for nearly a year while I was on deployment. The battery was replaced when I returned and it still has the same battery. The parking brake bell cranks seized this past winter and I snapped a cable. That was fairly easy to fix. I put new tires on it this week and discovered the right lower ball joint had some play it in it during the alignment so, that was replaced. Other than a new set of brakes and oil changes, that’s about it as far as maintenance is concerned.

It’s starting to show some age here and there but I fully expect I can get another 166,000 miles out of it with some good maintenance.

I was glad to discover Tacoma World. I’m not sure why that took so long. Regardless, I’m glad to be here and I look forward to conversing with people who have had as much fun with their truck as I’ve had with mine, and possibly help each other get that other 100,000 miles!

I don't know. I'm surprised I never came across it sooner. After driving around for months without a parking brake, I discovered it while searching the internet, trying to find a way to salvage the brake bell cranks. I've explored a few threads today. This site is awesome!
