Hi, appreciate your forums. I am looking for a replacement for my 89 Tacomo "ole Bones", she threw her timing chain and bent a couple of valves hence she went up on the block & was sold to a Harry-Homemaker so she could live again. It was so sad because I had a good tech and was keeping up on all, but anomalous tragedy occurred. It happened directly in front of the Sacto Dump station! I knew it was all over then... So it is 2 years later, Husband n I plan to purchase a Casita camper trailer (2500 lbs) and skedaddle! He (is dreaming) wants a RAM 2500 Cummings. I know the dependability of toyota and trust in reliability (regardless of poor "ole Bones") Because of much research & ConsumerReports it seems that a 2012 Tacoma Access 4x4 v6 would suit our needs. I am seriously determined to find one. Does this sound reasonable? Any recommendation concerning 4x4 and tow packages? We use a professional tech for all work, not gonna be wrenching on it ourselves. Thank-you for being here to share knowledge and wisdom. Looking forward to delightful relationships :proposetoast:

Welcome to TW. You and your hubby have a big difference in what you want :p. You might search the threads on towing and campers and post there. Good luck.

That truck should be easy to find and should suit your needs well. That size camper will tow very easily behind a Tacoma. Just make sure it's a factory tow package and not just a tow hitch.

We found a fine 2014 V6 SR5 with the "factory Tow pkg" cost a lotta but the search is over and we are:yay: and will take real good care of her.. lil Bëbë, plan on this being the last vehicle ever have to purchase, waiting for the dash topper to arrive and the mud trays. Step one in our exit Sactown to camp hot springs in the the "7 Western" strategy. Happy happy joy joy! moving along
