GraveYard Shift BS

Xmas gift. Looked good, decided to try it before bed.

 

I was in Alaska this summer. It’s a good one!

 

Oh, so you have some kind of life!
Not me, most companies in the GOM are 28/14 which I’ve worked for the past 5-1/2 years. I need a nice long break!

 

When you change jobs you have to ask yourself “are my gains beating my losses”. Not always monetary answers, sometimes it’s a quality of life gain. Pets have a way of making you feel better about almost everything!

 

Just got in from clearing the driveway so I can get to work; got about 14” in central MA. Took almost 2 hours because of the wind.

Off for two nights, then back on sunday.

 

This is so true! I most likely won’t make as much unless I started my own company but to be home everyday. Take a ride throughout the country just me and a good ole farm dog!

 

I’m so ready to go home. I’ve flipped 2, to get 2 from the ED.

I cannot imagine a life without dogs.

 

TGIF! Six more hours til end of shift, and I get a 3 day weekend because of shift changeover! (Going from having Fri nights and Sat nights off to having Sat nights and Sun nights off).

 

I'd rather have Fri, Sat.

 

We'll see how I like it. Having Sundays off will allow me to add Nosework and tracking training with my dogs.

 

I did the opposite, went from sat/sun to fri/sat so I didn’t have to sleep during the day on Saturday. I have more of the weekend with my family but just leave for work on Sunday night as they go to bed.

I get off at 6am on Sunday, which leaves from whenever I wake up to about 9:30-10pm with the wife unit. Then I'll get from about 7pm-9:30pm on Monday and Tuesday with her.

Sucks, I tell ya...

 

I stay up on my Friday, when I get off shift, and crash by 9pm. I get up early after my second night off, so I can get some sleep in the afternoon on my "Monday".

Yuck, that does suck. Graves can be tough with families.
It's just me and the dogs, they adjust to my sleep schedule.

 

At 29, with no kids or wife, I've been able to pretty much conquer work at these hours. Much more active than coming in at 7am. I'd need 5 cups of coffee or a long line of that "snow" to be productive at those hours. Haha

 

I'm closer to 50 than 40 (that's as much as I'm saying about my age LOL), and I think it's the fact I wanted to work graveyard shift makes a big difference.
I was on dayshift last year, and I was more of a zombie on dayshift than I am on graveyard.

 

That's the word i was looking for. Zombie!
