I really feel for you folks that are stuck on this shift with only one day off before you have to come back.

We're at least 3 on/3 off, then 4 on/4 off. The 6p-6a over the weekends though is rough.

Went up to the dealer and took the 3rd gen loaner back. Took my truck for a ride, much better. They told me they found nothing wrong but replaced everything and resurfaced the drums anyway. I left my truck there and took home a Tundra Platinum Crewmax.

Back on shift work after being on days for 3 months. Into my 2nd of 4 nights. I don't mind working nights but for some reason I have a hard time sleeping during the day. 2 benadryl seem to work best but are usually only good for about 6 hrs. of uninterupted sleep.

I always feel lucky if I can get 6 hours in, I had to get a prescription to try and settle my sleep schedule a bit.

It works, but I'm starting to feel like I can't sleep at all without it.

I literally have cardboard over my windows. It's ugly IDC, my room is in the back of the house. No one sees it. Door stays closed and a fan running. I'm usually able to get hours of sleep.

I use a sleep mask and earplugs, which help a LOT. My wife's at work during the day (no kids) so the house is pretty quiet.

Wait until you hit 50+, you’ll be lucky to get 4-5hrs before your bladder screams at you.

After my surgery I had a hard time falling to sleep and my Dr told me to take Benedryl. Worked!

I use Reflectix. Industrial strength bubblewrap with aluminum foil applied to both sides.

This is a big part of that, right there. :(

I try to stop drinking anything, maybe an hour before I crash out. Sometimes it works, sometimes no.

Ah, and to clarify - I'm talking about drinking ANYTHING, water, juice, milk. Unless it's been a REALLY rough night I don't do alcohol at all during the work week.

I got bounced to the day shift for the next 2 weeks. I don't like it. Can't get shit done after work.

Regardless. I'm sitting in the garage watching a pretty severe thunderstorm. I actually enjoy them.

That's what I'm talking about, and once I'm up I usually can't go back to sleep.

With ear plugs I hear frequencies I don't normally hear, really annoying. Yeah I know I'm weird.

I tried cardboard but it's too hot in the summer, no A/C, I have to have the window open.

For me, the tinnitus drowns everything out. :anonymous:

Too much shooting, running chainsaw, and rock concerts as a kid with no hearing protection.

It's funny, for YEARS I thought that high-pitched whine was normal, and I never gave it much thought.

It's only within the last few years I realized what it was, a good friend of mine has it pretty bad too.
