Pretty much the same... Except my patients being monitored are boilers, chillers, compressors and cooling towers.

    I can relate.

I actually saw a 1000 cfm air compressor catch on fire from static electricity. A pin hole leak developed on the discharge. The air/oil vapor lit off. It completely melted the discharge pipe off the compressor head.

The entire episode was 10 seconds long. I just happened to be in the compressor room when it occurred.

Talking to techs in the compressed air field, this is an event that has never been witnessed.

I have the evidence in my underwear that the event did, in fact occur...

The best way to describe it was similar to Roman candles going off.

So funny story, we had a frequent caller who constantly made us come on BS calls. Example: She had shin splints, or her "tummy hurt" after eating too much. Anyways after a few months once a week calls she called again cause she had meat stuck in her throat. She was speaking fine and we were exhausted from a previous call. We didn't have our A game. My Lt insisted that she sign a release and let us go on real calls. She cried and cried till we took her to the Er. Later on, a few hours later we were back in the ER for a different call and I asked the Rn how she was (as i was laughing) and kid you not.....Rn says " she was rushed to the operating room for emergency surgery for an obstruction in her throat". haha I never second guess a pt again.

Well, no OT tonight. Had an issue. Gotta wait for feedback from engineering, which has no staff on nights.

    ''yello all.

    (Easier than quoting).

Off to try to get some sleep. Just got called up from the minors. The nephew needs someone to watch his 4 year old daughter tomorrow.

She loves her uncle Kirk and Aunt Shelle.

We get to watch the kiddo then I hopefully get to get a nap and head in to work.

It's a job I have no problem with.

Should’ve slept longer than 1.5 hours before coming in tonight but the munchkins didn’t allow it. Worked outside in the 95* heat most of the day and am feeling the exhaustion/dehydration like a MF right now.
