yeah i have to run the AC as well. If I wake up hot or sweaty when sleeping on night shifts, I am done. I can't go back to sleep. I need cool, darkness, and quiet.

It's just understandable. I'm not into DST or really even different time zone for every 15 degrees we shift around the planet.

I'm due east of Helena and man we had all sorts of purple on the doppler when I left the house. I kinda wish you guys had just kept it! :) And we've got plenty of lightening strikes to repair at work tonight... Yee haw.

Now this is a plan I like!

    Welcome or welcome back.

I completely understand needing a cool dark room. Once I wake up, after a midnight shift, I am up for the whole day. You have to work it to understand. The worst is when the someone says you have all day to sleep. If only it were that easy....

I gotcha brother. I can't thank you enough for serving.

I'm on 10s but, would really like 13s for a 3day work work. Did it at another employer and was really nice.

I relate time that way regularly, but it's not often I have other people outside of work relate it that way. I agree it's understandable, surprises me when people find it confusing.

Lighting strikes ... sounds like a busy night. Stay safe out there with the system still in the area. Do ya'll clear the flight line when the cells are within 3 miles? Or what's the commercial rule on that?

Thank you for your service :oldglory:

Wish we could get back on 4 10s, they did that here, but before my time. 3 13s and 4 days off would be perfect.

Crashed a little after 9PM again. Wide awake at 2:30AM again.

Yes. 14 credit hours or 5 classes, however you want to look at it and 40+ hours of work.

Wow, more power to you. Using your GI Bill and getting full BAH I assume; that's a great program, one of the few things they've gotten right lately. Hang in there, it'll be worth it in the long run.

You know it! Yeah, I've done my personal training program, gotten my associates, and am doing the EMT certification program and have 1 1/2 years left of free schooling. The 1200$ a mo. helps too haha! It sucks but I know it will be worth it.

Ow! I do 5 nights of 8 hr shifts with classes on-top of that and it's hard enough. I can't imagine dealing with school after a 12 hour shift!

Wow Rob that's one of the thing that really sux about working nights. Even on your RDOs you still don't have a regular sleep pattern.

I'm with you in the time. Doing the time change zone to zone or DST is craziness for our business.

We have an automated warning system the sets of 100s maybe thousands of blue strobe lights on our ramp if there is lightening within a 5 mile radius. These are to alert anyone working outside that it's time for coffee. I was out a little but, during most of my shift I felt like we were at K-Mart during a very special blue light special.

The worst I actually saw was an MD11 that looked as if someone went down the fuselage with a welding rod. Static discharge wicks blown off, composite panels missing material & screw heads on the winglets blown off. It's amazing to me how much of a beating an airplane can take. Of course a lot of people feel Douglas products are the Tacoma of airplanes. Really built tough.

What you got on the schedule today?

It wasn't too bad tonight. Went back to sleep @ 4 and just woke now, slept another 4 hrs.

I wonder why the Air Force never adopted the blue light warning concept? We've always just called the guys on the radios to clear the line.

I know C17 is one tough airplane.

    Thatching the front yard today.

Time for blueberry waffles with the grand kids. You get any GA time in? What happened with the 4Runner?
