I just meant "work" boots My dad has never been one that had to buy "name brand" stuff, but he always wore Red Wings.

 

Only thing I wish they had are a cleated Vibram sole. Not good in snow.

I would imagine that they are like everything else these days(cheaper made), but their quality was bar none from what I remember.

 

I have extra boots( 5 pair)
Saw this veteran asking for change and over the next few days I decided to ask him if he worked. He said a little in construction but was having trouble finding consistent work. Noticed his shoes were in tough shape. Asked his size and the next day gave him a pair of my boots( only a year old.) he tried them on and Was thrilled they fit. Took his old pair home nd tossed them away

Some of their stuff is not made here and therefore a pretty inferior product compared to those.

I would rather give someone something like that rather than cash. I'm always leary of what they do with cash. Although, it shouldn't matter. I should give with kindness in my heart and not worry what they do with it.
