    Evening folks.
Up and around cleaning house and rearranging furniture. Have an appt on friday with my new surgeon that will do the full hip replacement. Hopefully I can get on the schedule in the first week or two of aug.
The hardest part for me is going to be recovery. If I can somehow get recovery/rehab in indiana, I would much rather be there with my parents. Not sure how that is going to work out.

Sorry to hear about the hip. I was upstairs talking to guy who just had his hip replaced. He was out 2 1/2 months, he feels great, and doesn't regret it at all. Good luck!

Good morning Melissa. Have you plasti-dipped the front of your truck yet:confused:

Nice! Do the lamin x yellow fogs make it easier to see things (animals) in the dark?

I haven't ran across any animals in my path since putting it on but did have some fog the other night on my way to work and the yellow light worked so much better cutting thru the fog

    :goingcrazy:

So much packing and wrenching to do after work today. Leaving on the bike trip Friday morning after work. I've put fresh tires on, changed the sprockets, chain, rear brake pads, packed wheel bearings with fresh grease, and I really should swap out the rocker arms in the head on the bike before I leave tomorrow. Replacing the fuel filter (which is in the gas tank naturally and annoying to get to) would be best but I'll just care a spare and spare hose clamps if I have an issue and swap it out trail side.

Then I just have to pack, and clean the apartment.

It was stuff I was hoping to put off until a wrenching day a friend usually runs in early September but then I realized my trip is a solid 4,000 miles or so and the chain, sprockets, and tires had to be done. The rocker arms in the head are optional to do; my bike only has 10,000 miles but people replace the rocker arms every 10,000 to 20,000 miles but there have been failures earlier and some later then that. If the rocker arm bearings go it sometimes hoses the camshaft lobes and could make for a sucky situation as I don't carry a spare cam shaft and my route is usually away from civilization.

KTM re-designed the cam shafts for the 2014 version of the bike to address the issue but the ones I have could still fail and I'd much rather throw new ones in and not worry about it. A good trip is all in the preventative maintenance which I'm kind of anal about. Such is life when owning a KTM, though I could probably do this trip and everything would be fine. I just don't want to get stuck somewhere, especially when I'm riding alone.

Hrm, a spare cam shaft is $190 but a place has 25% off oem parts in July so $140. Wouldn't be a bad idea to keep on hand though it's kinda big with the timing sprocket on the end of it to carry on a trip.
