We just got away from 13.5 hour shifts because anything after 10 hours and you start to lose your ability to think clearly. So, we went from three 13's to two 8's and two 12's, cuz that solves the problem. I work 1500-2300 two days and 1100-2300 the other two. First, it sucks going from three days to four. Second, I'm on our "power squad" which is supposed to be a supplemental squad......supplementing the old man squad who don't do jack. The worst part of my shift is from Monday night to Saturday morning, I don't see my wife for more than 10 minutes in passing when she comes home and I have to leave. It blows.

The worst was three 12's on weekend graves. Sunday, I would ride it out and stay awake like a zombie until I pass out telling my woman about the night
